This is a genuine email:
Derek, Let me start by thanking you for obviously being a devoted Wal-Mart customer as is evidenced by your extensive collection of Wal-Mart receipts. However, I would like to respectfully request that you remove the images of these receipts from your website and/or any other publicly accessible media. The reason for my request is simply this, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has gone to great expense in order to protect itself from certain types of fraud. There is information contained within the receipts that you have published which would allow persons engaging in criminal activity to effectively bypass the protections which we have put in place. Although I am sure that this was unintentional on your part, it does put our company at risk. We strive to minimize losses no matter how large or small in an effort to keep our prices low for loyal customers such as yourself. Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact me at the number listed below. Thank you.Jerry R. Geisler III, CFI Corporate Fraud Examiner Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
