 Trimming the tree, the beginning of Christmas' true arrival in our home. Trimming follows assembly -- while we'd both prefer a real tree, an artificial one is cleaner, safer, and easier to handle in our little apartment. We decorated the tree in between batches of Christmas cookies; most are going with me to work, as contribution for a potluck lunch, but the freshest ones were eaten during a break.
