My old Corsica, which I bought in early 2000, had developed a number of health problems, costing me more money than I cared to spend on it. That mechanical illness, combined with an offer for a car loan from my credit-card comany, got Destiny and myself out to the car dealership.

The fourth car we saw was the one pictured above: a 1999 Ford Contour SE. It met all my requirements, Destiny highly approved, so with a few strokes of the pen the car was ours.

Selling the Corsica proved difficult, though; it got damaged while sitting in a parking lot with the "FOR SALE" sign in the window, the high mileage put off buyers, and it eventually got a "MOVE IT OR IT'LL BE TOWED" tag by the police. It finally sold for $730 at the public car auction.
