For three years I was the webmaster of Derek's Big Website of WalMart Receipts. I was interviewed for print, TV, and radio, and my picture appeared in publications around the world, all because I wrote a silly little program to index my WalMart receipts (or any image) and allow viewer comments. On a tiny level, the site even had an impact in molding the internet into what it is today.Unfortunately, today my free webspace provider deleted my account for reasons unknown, forever erasing the WalMart Receipt Site. I had known it could happen at any time, but that didn't make it any less of a shock. The Site, on the whole, had been through a good run, so I have no plans of relaunching it.
