I think I prefer BB's answer, but to answer your question, the loyalty card scheme is used over here by the big supermarkets, they swipe your card at the checkout and the amount you have spent is turned into loyalty points. Which you can then use to spend in all sorts of ways..... Ah, I see....so, you Englishpeoples don't mind the fact that there's someone sitting in a small room somewhere going "boy, Abi buys an inordinate amount of whipped cream each month..."? Geez, a person would be crazy to let strangers look over their shopping habits! I guess we do have something similar over here in America, too -- the more you buy, you get discounts on buying more stuff, and the store gets your personal info for marketing research...ah, capitalism at it's finest!
