A while back, before I had moved into my new house, I stopped over to check on the house after it had snowed. I thought to myself, "geez, why hasn't the walk been shoveled yet?" Silly me, that was MY job!Later, I happily shoveled as trace amounts of snow fell overnight, or drifts glided into our sidewalk. I felt empowered -- not quite a homeowner, I still felt like a man with his own home. It's not some giant building shared with others. This house is my home, my family's home, and I'm in charge of keeping it in good order.Yesterday, around 6 or 7 inches of snow fell in Fargo. In a few short hours, God took all the fun out of shoveling.

What happened to the Derek I knew so long ago?
The one who told me of the wonderfulness that
was an apartment? The one who joked about the
rose bushes in front of my house?
I suppose it's only natural that I have an apartment
now and you should decide to get a house. Am I a
step ahead? Or one behind? :) --FrAnKiE, 12/16/2003 14:14:37
